Beloved actress Catherine O’Hara suffered a medical emergency at her Los Angeles home early Friday morning, according to dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, which indicates she was experiencing difficulty breathing before being transported to a hospital.

First responders were called to O’Hara’s Brentwood residence around 5 a.m. Friday. The Los Angeles Fire Department says she was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in serious condition. Hours later, the legendary actress was pronounced dead.

TMZ first reported the news of O’Hara’s passing, citing multiple sources with direct knowledge. A cause of death has not been revealed. Page Six was the first outlet to report her hospitalization earlier in the day.

O’Hara rose to prominence in a string of iconic films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including After Hours, Beetlejuice, Dick Tracy, and the first two Home Alone movies, where she played the unforgettable Kate McCallister.

Her distinctive voice also made her a standout in animation, with roles such as Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas and Penny in Over the Hedge.

More recently, O’Hara captivated a new generation of fans as Moira Rose on the hit series Schitt’s Creek. She last appeared in Seth Rogen’s acclaimed show The Studio, earning a Golden Globe nomination earlier this year, though she did not attend the ceremony.
