The verified fundraiser says Mike and Paula Musgrove exhausted much of their savings while supporting their daughter through years of legal proceedings
A verified GoFundMe campaign seeking $2 million has been launched for Lindsay Clancy’s parents as her closely watched murder trial continues in Massachusetts. The fundraiser is intended to help Mike and Paula Musgrove recover from the financial strain they say they have experienced while standing by their daughter.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty in connection with the January 2023 deaths of her three young children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan — at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Prosecutors allege she killed the children using exercise bands, while her defense has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time.
According to the campaign, Mike and Paula relocated from Connecticut to Massachusetts more than three years ago so they could remain close to Clancy and attend court proceedings. Paula is retired, while Mike works as a photographer.
The family says the couple has spent substantial portions of their savings on travel, lodging, everyday living expenses and other costs connected to supporting their daughter during the lengthy criminal case. The appeal describes their lives as having been placed “on hold” throughout the proceedings.
Organizers stress that the fundraiser is not asking donors to decide whether Clancy is guilty or innocent. Instead, it focuses specifically on the financial impact the case has had on her parents, who are listed as the campaign’s direct beneficiaries and will control how the donations are used.
The campaign arrives as prosecutors continue presenting their case in a trial already marked by emotional and highly disputed testimony. Despite the enormous public scrutiny surrounding the proceedings, Mike and Paula say their commitment to supporting their daughter remains unchanged.
